Big Dreams…

Play your part!

Chagrin Falls has been the Theatre’s home since 1930, and we are proud to be one of the oldest continually operating community theatres in the State of Ohio.

Our mission is to enrich the cultural life of the Chagrin Valley and Northeast Ohio.  CVLT fosters a love of theater and provides training for young performers in its Youth Theatre program. We take the show on the road and into classrooms where issues such as bullying, safe streets, drug and alcohol abuse are played out on the stage in an impactful way with student classmates as actors, with our Accent on Youth Program.

Chagrin Valley Little Theatre also partners with other important arts organizations, sharing music with audiences through the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra and acting as a film venue for the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival.

Our mission is more important than ever, as we have been given a marvelous gift from the State of Ohio to help us in renovating our theatre into a new and improved facility.  We are very grateful that the State of Ohio recognized the importance of Chagrin Valley Little Theatre in our community through their significant capital grant.

Now, we have launched “Putting It Together – A Campaign to Benefit Chagrin Valley Little Theatre,” a major fund raising effort to add to the generous gift from the State of Ohio to upgrade our facility, increase access for the community and expand the space available for our education and youth theater programs. The goal for the Campaign is $1.2 million, and we’re well on our way! We have good, sound plans for an exciting future at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, but we can’t do this without your support. You have the opportunity to invest in CVLT as an important asset for our community and to help make this happen!

Big changes…

Rep. Marlene Anielski with Tom Neff

Putting It Together – A Campaign to Benefit CVLT will allow us to expand our public areas to better serve our patrons and the community, and importantly to create ADA-compliant facilities throughout our building. We’ll also be able to improve the backstage facilities for our actors and scene builders, enabling us to continue to attract the best community talent to our stage.

Our Main Stage Theatre will get new lighting and sound systems, improved seats and acoustical upgrades. We’ll also do some roof replacement to protect our current assets.

In addition to our Main Stage Theatre, we have our River Street building, where most of our education and youth theatre programming takes place, and which is also home to several smaller shows and new play workshops. This older building needs basic but important structural repairs and upgrades, such as a new roof and windows, new heating and air conditioning, new carpet, an ADA-compliant wheelchair ramp, sound and lighting equipment, and other improvements to allow us to more effectively deliver our programs to the community.
