Set in a Beverly Hills Jewish household in 1983, this compelling drama plunges a family into an emotionally charged weekend when their patriarch attends a community meeting in which members of The Jewish Defense League are requesting an opportunity to speak at their B’nai Brith lodge, where they plan to encourage its members to stage a protest at a Nazi rally that is about to occur in their area.

With both humor and emotion, LONG AFTER CRYSTAL NIGHT challenges its characters to question the depth of their convictions and their personal courage in the face of difficult truths. This thought-provoking play is a timely and timeless exploration of identity, belonging, and the enduring human spirit.

Meet the Cast & Crew

Cast

Mara Miller Spinuzza

MARA MILLER SPINUZZA (Joyce Goldstein) is thrilled to make her debut with CVLT in the role of Joyce. Originally from the area and a Chicago-trained performer, Mara has appeared in multiple original sketch revues at The Second City. She has also performed as a House Team Player with ComedySportz Chicago, specializing in short-form improv. Proud wife to Joe and mom to Claire, with endless appreciation to CP for this opportunity and unconditional gratitude to her family and friends. Dedicated to the Jewish generations that came before her.

Harrison Rosenberger

HARRISON ROSENBERGER (Jerry Gardner) is returning to the River Street stage after his debut CVLT role in the The Bigfoot Letters (Squirrelly Joe) earlier in March 2026. When not indulging in the magic of theatre, you can find him lifting weights in his garage, gallivanting through open fields, or hanging out with his two cats - Mika and Mowgli.

Jeff Lockshine

JEFF LOCKSHINE (Seymour Goldstein) is pleased to return to the CVLT community where he last appeared more than 30 years ago as Eugene Jerome in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound. In 1992, Jeff had the honor of directing the Ohio Premier of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins next door at The River Street Playhouse. He has appeared on stage at area theaters including Aurora Community Theater, Strongsville Community Theater, Beck Center, Berea Summer Theater, Greenbrier (Cassidy) Theater and Clague Playhouse. Favorite roles include Jack (Into the Woods), Tom Sawyer (Big River), Skeets Miller (Floyd Collins) and Eddie (Lost in Yonkers). Primarily a Lighting Designer, Jeff earned his MFA from Ohio University in Production Design & Technology and has designed the lighting for more than 100 shows throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Clague Playhouse in Westlake where he made his Scenic Design debut earlier this year. During the day, Jeff is an Account Executive selling and producing trade shows and events.

Steve Mullett

STEVE MULLETT (Doug) is delighted to be back on the CVLT stage for the third time. He previously appeared in Sherwood in 2023 and A Bad Year for Tomatoes in 2006. He was most recently in The Elephant Man in 2023 at Twin Masks in Twinsburg. Steve works as a civil engineer and is a father of five and grandfather of three.

Carsyn Avegno

CARSYN AVEGNO (Susana) holds a Masters of Arts in Cultural and Arts Management from the University of Winchester in the United Kingdom, as well as a Batchelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Theatre from Southeastern Louisiana University. This is her third show at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, and she is thrilled to be sharing the stage with so many wonderful performers! Some of her favorite past shows have been Miss Whitman’s Words for Women (Grace, Southeastern Louisiana University Theatre), 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche (Ginny, Alpha Psi Omega) and 9 to 5 (Missy Hart, the University of Winchester). Enjoy the show!

Barry Moses

BARRY MOSES (Herbert Cohen) is ALWAYS happy to be in a show at CVLT. This one in particular. Long After Crystal Night has a great director (CP), a resonant storyline, a complex central figure, and several recognizable Jewish American characters in a great cast. Oy, what could be better? Not to say Barry didn't have fun in CVLT productions Don't Dress for Dinner (George), 1970 (Officer Fernandez), Young Frankenstein (Villager/Count Dracula), and The Underpants (Theo Maske). All the while supported by his loving and oh so patient wife, Karen. Feeling grateful for all the blessings, truly!
