Set in a Beverly Hills Jewish household in 1984, this compelling drama plunges a family into an emotionally charged weekend when their patriarch attends a community meeting in which members of The Jewish Defense League are requesting an opportunity to speak at their B’nai Brith lodge, where they plan to encourage its members to stage a protest at a Nazi rally that is about to occur in their area.

With both humor and emotion, LONG AFTER CRYSTAL NIGHT challenges its characters to question the depth of their convictions and their personal courage in the face of difficult truths. This thought-provoking play is a timely and timeless exploration of identity, belonging, and the enduring human spirit.

Meet the Cast & Crew

Cast

Mara Miller Spinuzza

MARA MILLER SPINUZZA (Joyce Goldstein) is thrilled to make her debut with CVLT in the role of Joyce. Originally from the area and a Chicago-trained performer, Mara has appeared in multiple original sketch revues at The Second City. She has also performed as a House Team Player with ComedySportz Chicago, specializing in short-form improv. Proud wife to Joe and mom to Claire, with endless appreciation to CP for this opportunity and unconditional gratitude to her family and friends. Dedicated to the Jewish generations that came before her.

Harrison Rosenberger

HARRISON ROSENBERGER (Jerry Gardner) is returning to the River Street stage after his debut CVLT role in the The Bigfoot Letters (Squirrelly Joe) earlier in March 2026. When not indulging in the magic of theatre, you can find him lifting weights in his garage, gallivanting through open fields, or hanging out with his two cats - Mika and Mowgli.

Shane Johnson

SHANE JOHNSON (Keith Goldstein) is excited to portray Keith in Long After Crystal Night, marking his first venture into straight theater. He was most recently seen as Billy in School of Rock at Aurora Community Theatre. Additional roles include Fletcher in Freaky Friday at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre and Bruce Bogtrotter in Matilda Jr., where he developed a love for bringing bold, character-driven performances to the stage. With this production, Shane is eager to challenge himself in a more grounded and dramatic setting, focusing on character, relationships, and storytelling through dialogue. He is grateful for the opportunity to continue growing as an actor and thanks his family, directors, and fellow cast members for their support.

Jeff Lockshine

JEFF LOCKSHINE (Seymour Goldstein) is pleased to return to the CVLT community where he last appeared more than 30 years ago as Eugene Jerome in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound. In 1992, Jeff had the honor of directing the Ohio Premier of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins next door at The River Street Playhouse. He has appeared on stage at area theaters including Aurora Community Theater, Strongsville Community Theater, Beck Center, Berea Summer Theater, Greenbrier (Cassidy) Theater and Clague Playhouse. Favorite roles include Jack (Into the Woods), Tom Sawyer (Big River), Skeets Miller (Floyd Collins) and Eddie (Lost in Yonkers). Primarily a Lighting Designer, Jeff earned his MFA from Ohio University in Production Design & Technology and has designed the lighting for more than 100 shows throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Clague Playhouse in Westlake where he made his Scenic Design debut earlier this year. During the day, Jeff is an Account Executive selling and producing trade shows and events.

MICHAEL PITT (Uncle Morris) is excited to be back at CVLT after a long absence. His two appearances here were as Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple and Val in Laughter On The 23rd Floor. Michael has appeared at numerous community and professional theatres in the area. Some of his favorite roles include: Nathan Detroit in Guys And Dolls at Aurora and Happy Ending Lyric Players, Tito Merrelli in Lend Me A Tenor at Hudson Players, Harry Brock in Born Yesterday at Weathervane, Mathew Harrison Brady in Inherit The Wind, Reb Saunders in The Chosen at Weathervane, Lazar Wolf in Fiddler On The Roof at LaComedia Dinner Theatre and Ali Hakim in Oklahoma! at Aurora. Michael lives in Streetsboro.

Enjoy the show!

Barry Moses

BARRY MOSES (Herbert Cohen) is ALWAYS happy to be in a show at CVLT. This one in particular. Long After Crystal Night has a great director (CP), a resonant storyline, a complex central figure, and several recognizable Jewish American characters in a great cast. Oy, what could be better? Not to say Barry didn't have fun in CVLT productions Don't Dress for Dinner (George), 1970 (Officer Fernandez), Young Frankenstein (Villager/Count Dracula), and The Underpants (Theo Maske). All the while supported by his loving and oh so patient wife, Karen. Feeling grateful for all the blessings, truly!

Diane A. Sofer (Costumer) is pleased to be returning to CVLT after last working on The Rocky Horror Show as assistant costumer 15 years ago. By day our intrepid Costumer is a mild mannered Lab Tech at American Orthodontic Laboratory, by night helping make local actors look the part at theaters such as University School, Upper Campus and other various venues in the area .. Diane is married to CVLT alumni Eric L. Sofer, who introduced her 36 years ago to working in community theater. Thank you Carol for the opportunity to return"home" where it all started.

Abigail Stopka

ABIGAIL STOPKA (Assistant To The Director) is making her theatrical debut as Assistant Director with this production. While this is her first experience working on a stage production, she brings a strong background in storytelling and performance, having spent six years as an on-air personality across multiple local radio stations. Abigail has long been inspired by the beauty of theatre and the creative process behind it. She deeply values the dedication, collaboration, and talent that every member of a production contributes. Outside of theatre, Abigail works in marketing and is pursuing a legal career, continuing to build a path rooted in communication, creativity, and advocacy.

JULIA WOLFF (Props) is very happy to be returning to Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, and working alongside of Carol Pribble. Props was the first thing Julia did at Chagrin 33 years ago, coincidentally for a play starring Jeffrey Lockshine, our Seymour! Since then, she’s been a stage manager, a producer, Rudolph, the Head of the Production Technical board; was Board President and built most of the sets in those years with her late husband, Edmond. Guess Jeffrey was right when he wrote “Whether you like it or not, you have been bitten by the theater bug.” Much love to Scott for embracing this side of me!
