Do you love the quick wit of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Ever wonder what it’s like to step into the spotlight with nothing but your imagination?
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your social skills, conquer stage fright, or simply spend two hours laughing, this is the place for you. Join Chagrin Valley Little Theatre and the Unruly Dinner Guests (UDG) for a high-energy, hands-on workshop at the River Street Playhouse.
Improv isn’t just for actors; it’s a toolkit for life! Our workshop focuses on the core pillars of spontaneity:
The Power of “Yes, And”: Learn to accept any idea and build something bigger together.
Active Listening: Discover how to truly hear your partner to create magic in the moment.
Radical Confidence: Step outside your comfort zone in a space where “mistakes” are just gifts.
This isn’t a lecture—it’s a playground. We’ll guide you through classic warm-ups and hilarious games in a welcoming atmosphere where all ideas are agreed upon and everyone is a genius. No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and a pair of comfortable shoes!
Formerly known as the River Side Valley Players, Unruly Dinner Guests are masters of the “blank slate.” Since 2015, this troupe has been creating 100% improvised characters, dialogue, and stories inspired entirely by audience suggestions.
From fast-paced, short-form games to intricate, Chicago-style long-form pieces, UDG has explored the deep waters of improv, including forms like the Armando, Bat, Deconstruction, La Ronde, and the Slacker.
The Troupe: Jenny Barrett, Rollin DeVere, Chris Hall, Peter Preneta, Mark Remley, and Marianne Veniero.
Coached by: Deena Nyer Mendlowitz.
