CVLT rings in the new year with the “devilishly clever” comedy-thriller Deathtrap. Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers currently facing a string of failures, resides in a charming Connecticut home. When a student in his writing seminar sends him a new script with massive hit potential, Sidney devises a plan with his wife to “collaborate” with the young writer. What follows is a suspenseful plot that twists and turns toward a startling finale.

Directed by Chris Bizub

Deathtrap is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service.

BRANDON LARSON (Sound Designer)

STEVE M. SAVANYU (Technical Director/Set Construction) is CVLT’s Board VP, and Technical Coordinator. Steve has been involved with technical theater since 1972. Along with carpentry, he has extensive experience in sound, lighting and projections. He enjoys working with volunteers, getting them excited about Tech. From moving train cars for Murder on the Orient Express and realistic brick walls with a color changing lighted proscenium surround for Beautiful, the Carol King Musical to an art-deco 1930’s hotel suite in Lend Me a Tenor, Steve’s volunteer crew enhance the CVLT stage. When not set building or hiding Hedgehog-related “Easter eggs” in them for the cast, crew and audience to find, Steve operates Buford T. Hedgehog Productions at many Chagrin Falls events.

REGINA MARZULLO (Scenic Artist) has recently graduated from Kent State University and earned her BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media. She is so happy to be putting her degree to good use by bringing this show to life through paint and colors. Gina has been previously seen onstage and offstage at CVLT. She was previously the scenic artist for Big the Musical, Lend Me a Tenor and Anastasia here at CVLT and is excited to be back! She would like to thank all her family's overwhelming love and support while she pursues her dreams of art and creation.
